About the Event

Race can be a tough topic for anyone to tackle. It Could Be Your Kid can help. Using engaging fictional texts; we will delve into tough topics like race, microaggressions, civil rights movements, implicit bias and how to engage in anti-racism. Join us for a virtual six week book club. Children will have a fun and thought provoking experience interacting with their peers while discussing an authentic, engaging, age-appropriate fictional text. Each session will be led by a certified educator who will guide the discussion and provide factual historical context for the enrichment of each student. As always, we encourage journal reflection as a part of any learning experience and conversations between children and their adult caregivers.
